HOW TO BE A BAKER

The FIRST step in mastering all of your Tradeskills is to Master Baking!

To Master baking the easiest way you will want to make one Major Recipe that has several Minor Recipe sub-combines: Misty Thicket Picnic

First, you should have already obtained ALL of your trophies before you start…yes, all of them. To obtain your Trophies you will need to see THIS LIST on EQ Traders Corner. Once you have all of your trophies, come back here.

You’re back already? Wonderful!

The path to mastering Baking is easy as pie.

1)The first thing you are going to do is buy a Mixing Bowl and some vegetables from Klen Ironstove in Plane of Knowledge. You need to buy 200 Carrot, 200 Turnip and 200 Lettuce. Mix one of each in the bowl you just bought from him until you get 200 Vegetables (Trivial Score 15)

2)The next thing you are going to do is make 1,000 Royal Mints (Trivial Score of 76). You will still be with Klen Ironstove and will buy form him 1,000 Frosting. Then you need to leave and go find  Alchemist Redsa (a horrid looking Troll!) near Doggle Pitt Bank (also called the Small Bank) in Plane of Knowledge. From Redsa you will buy 1,000 Eucalyptus Leaf. Once you have your components you are going to mix 1 Frosting + 1 Eucalyptus Leaf in your mixing bowl until you have 1,000 Royal Mints.

3)Next on the list is Mature Cheese. But before you make it, you are going to need to make a Dairy Spoon which you have to do with your Smithing; and luckily you have a 54 since you have your Smithing Trophy. You do have it right? If so, once you have your Dairy Spoon you are going to go see good ol’ Klen Ironstove again. From him you are going to buy 2,000 Bottle of Milk and 1,000 Rennet. Place your Dairy Spoon, 2 bottles of milk and 1 Rennet in the Mixing Bowl until you have 1,000 Mature Cheese (Trivial of 84).

4)Next, you either need to go kill Brownies or buy Brownie Parts from the Bazaar. You can go to the Lesser Faydark (I suggest being level 35 at least) to kill Brownies there. It can take some time but you can get the 10 Brownie Parts you need. If you are level 85 or higher you can instead go to the Dragonscale Hills and in the southwest corner of the map find a Brownie Tree Town and have the brownie parts in no time! If you can get more Brownie Parts I suggest it…as many as you can get.

Once you get the Brownie Parts you will make Winter Chocolate: mix 1 Brownie Parts with 2 Frosting you get from your buddy Klen Ironstove (the Trivial Score is 95). Remember, you need at LEAST 10 Winter Chocolate but may need more if you fail a combine later.

5)Next you are going to need Fruit. Fruit can only be purchased in the Bazaar or Foraged…unless you have a friend that can get you some. You need 100 Fruit at least.

Once you get your Fruit, you are going to go to ol’ Klen Ironstove again and buy 300 Frosting to mix with the Fruit. Combine 1 Fruit with 3 Frosting in an Oven and you will get Apricot Marmalade (Trivial Score of 99).

6)After you have your Apricot Marmalade you are going to make at least 1,000 Marmalade Sandwich (Trivial Score of 99) in your Mixing Bowl. You will combine 1 Apricot Marmalade with 1 Loaf of Bread that you can get from…you guessed it, Klen Ironstove.

7)Next we are going to make 1,000 Jumjum Salad (Trivial Score of 142). You should still be standing next to Klen, so from him you are going to buy 100 each of Lettuce, Fennel and Jumjum Stalk from Klen. In your mixing bowl you will then add 4 pieces: 1 Vegetables, 1 Lettuce, 1 Fennel and 1 Jumjum Stalk. If successful in all your combines (you won’t be, sorry…but use your extra Vegetables you made and other needed ingredients from Klen until done) you will then have 1,000 Jumjum Salad.

8)Remember when you were making a Clump of Dough when getting your Baking Trophy? Well, now you need at least 10 more. You can buy the 10 Bottle of Milk, 10 Cup of Flour and 10 Free-Range Egg from good ol’ Klen again. When you have at least 10 Clump of Dough you are ready to move on.

9)Now you need a Cake Round. If you have been working your Pottery Recipes then making the thing will be easy enough combined with your smithing; but if you haven’t, you can reach out to someone to make it for you. It doesn’t take long either way...but I encourage you to make it yourself as it will help you raise your Pottery.

10)With your Clump of Dough and your Cake Round you are ready to make Jumjum Cake (Trivial Score of 166)…200 of them to be exact. To make them you place your Cake Round, Clump of Dough, a Frosting, a Jumjum Stalk and a Winter Chocolate in an oven. Each success will give you 20 Cakes; so this doesn’t take long. Once you get your 200 Cakes…put them 1 at a time back in the oven. This will give you a total of 2,000 Slice of Jumjum Cake (Trivial Score of 27).

11)Now you are going to actually be working your Brewing Trophy a bit! You are going to make Jumjum Spiced Beer (Trivial Score 162).

Go see Klen Ironstove and buy at least: 100 Jumjum Stalk, 100 Spices and 100 Water Flask.

Next go see Brewmaster Berina back behind the Small Bank where the Brew Barrel is. From her you are going to buy at least: 100 Barley and 100 Hops.

Then you will combine in the Brew Barrel: 1 Jumjum Stalk, 1 Spices, 1 Water Flask, 1 Barley and 1 Hops. Each success gives you 10 Jumjum Spiced Beer. Do this until you have at least 1,000 of this brewing recipe's results.

12)Now you are going to be working your Blacksmithing. You are going to need a File first.

Next you are going to go see a big ol’ gal named Blacksmith Gerta who stands near all the research folks at the Small Bank. From her you want to buy at least 100 Small Brick of Ore.

After that you will combine your File, Small Brick of Ore and a Water Flask in a Forge until you get at least 100 Steel Boning (Trivial Score 37).

13)Time to do some Tailoring! Go see that beauty of a Troll named Alchemist Redsa and buy from her at least 200 Mandrake Root. Then go into the Small Bank itself and use the loom there. Place 2 Mandrake Root into it to make Woven Mandrake (Trivial Score 66) until you get at least 100 Woven Mandrake.

Still using the Loom you are at, you will place 1 Steel Boning and 1 Woven Mandrake in the loom and combine to make 10 Picnic Basket (Trivial Score 76). Once you have at least 1,000 Picnic Basket you are good to go!

14)Last, but certainly not least, you are ready to grind out 1,000 Misty Thicket Picnic combines…YAY! These have a Trivial Score of 335 and will take your Baking skill all the way to 300 and fully evolve your trophy too!

You place: 1 Jumjum Salad, 1 Jumjum Spiced Beer, 1 Marmalade Sandwich, 1 Mature Cheese, 1 Picnic Basket, 1 Royal Mints and 2 Slice of Jumjum Cake into an Oven and make them until you get sick of making them! Lol

You may need more than 1000 combines honestly; but now you know what you need to do to get the components and you will quickly have your Baking Mastery as well as a Fully Evolved Baking Trophy.

Look on the bright side, you not only worked out your other skills a bit too…but you now have enough food to feed all your adventures for months to come!
